Valtellina

A unique place
with experiences
to enjoy

Valtellina is water, air, land, mountains, lakes, the scent of woods, meadows, and exquisite dishes. A unique territory nestled between the Rhaetian Alps and the Bergamo Alps, Valtellina spans 120 kilometers from the northern tip of Lake Como to Bormio, encompassing Livigno Valley, Valdidentro, and Valfurva with Santa Caterina to the east. To the north, the imposing peaks of the Rhaetian Alps form a natural border with Switzerland, while to the south, the Bergamo Alps separate Valtellina from the Lombardy Prealps and the Po Valley. The entire valley is traversed by the Adda River, flowing along its wide valley floor. West of Valtellina and north of Lake Como, also known as Lario, stretches Valchiavenna, cut through by the Mera River, which flows into Lake Mezzola and then into Lario. The Rhaetian side is sunny and south-facing, characterized by terraced vineyards and cultivated plateaus. The numerous side valleys of Valtellina offer a fantastic natural stage for discovering sensory delights in taste, sound, and sight.
